States and Regions

At Mrs. Donn’s Activity Page find a variety of lessons and activities that involve seeking information from the net and sharing with others. 

Have your students Travel Through the Regions with this webquest as they become experts on their states and regions.

This Tour USA Webquest is another opportunity for a virtual tour of the US.

 

Destination USA sends your students traveling around the country with the added challenge of planning the money piece of such an adventure.

 

Body Systems

The Human Body Corporation challenges students (organs)  to defend their position and importance in the human body. Our Body Systems combines group research on specific body systems and their role with nutritional requirements.
Inside and Out of the Human Body challenges student groups to create a display of the different body systems. The Human Body Systems  has a similar theme as the Human Body Corporation, but focuses on body systems, not specific organs.

 

Egypt

This Ancient Egypt webquest sends your students on a journey down the Nile. Hey, There's a New Pharaoh in Town challenges your students to defend the location of the capital through the study of geography, culture, religion and more of this ancient land.
Egypt Dig focuses on the pyramids and tombs of Ancient Egypt.  

Simple Machines

Simple Machines is a very basic quest surrounding definitions and examples of machines. Become a simple machine expert by completing this quest.
Invent your own machine with this quest.  

Collaborative Projects

Down the Drain focuses on daily water usage and lets you compare usage with others around the world while determining ways to conserve. The Global Sun Temperature Project lets you join schools from around the world from September 19 - December 19, 2005 as they determine how their geographic location (i.e. where they live) affects their average daily temperature and hours of sunlight.
The Square of Life is an  Internet-based collaborative project that will allow your students to share information about the plants, animals and non-living objects found in their schoolyard environment with other students from around the country and the world. Bucket Buddies involves students around the United States and other countries collecting samples from local ponds to answer the question: Are the organisms found in pond water the same all over the world?
Journey North is the global migration and seasonal study that resulted in our tulip gardens here last year.  They will return!  There are numerous other ways to participate in a similar project from tracking migrating animals, searching for signs of spring, to plotting sunlight hours.
