Save Your Work!  At Blanchard Memorial School, teachers and students in grades 4-6 (and in some instances grade 3) should login to a school computer with assigned usernames (first initial, last name). When logged in to a school computer, staff and students can access their own network folder.

Click here to watch a video demonstration of saving files to a network folder.

Or follow these easy steps to save to the network.

  1. Create your file with any application (Word, PowerPoint, Inspiration, etc.)
  2. Click File, Save As
  3. Click Computer
  4. Click to select your folder on the school network, identified by first initial, last name
  5. Type the name for your file in the File name box
  6. Use the Save as Type box if you need to change the file type for compatibility reasons
  7. Click Save

Compatibility issues between Apple and PC platforms are easily resolved by saving files in a specific format. Apple users can easily share iWork documents, spreadsheets, and presentations with anyone using Microsoft Office on a Mac or PC. You can also open MS Office files in iWork. Click here to learn how.
