Acceptable Use Policy

Internet Filtering
We strongly recommend that parents and guardians protect their children with Internet filtering tools that control unwanted and offensive content, and provide safe Internet access for families.  With the proliferation of handheld devices, it is becoming increasing difficult for parents to monitor their children's Internet access. One good choice for Internet filtering and parental control software, for both home computers and handheld devices, is K9 Web Protection. As part of a community outreach and social responsibility program, K9 is free for home computers, and is now also available free through iTunes for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.  K9 has been downloaded in over 1 million homes, and has won numerous awards.  The download is simple and spyware-free.  More information is available on the K9 Website.

Additional Internet Filtering Resources
Free Verizon Wireless Parental Controls for Cell Phones
Other free and paid options available from Verizon Wireless
Comcast "Constant Guard" (free for Comcast subscribers)

Access to Technology
Students and community members can access technology outside of school at the Sargent Memorial Library. Boxborough's public library offers free wireless throughout the building and eight Internet-connected PCs for public use. More information about resources and library hours can be found on the Sargent Memorial Library website.
