You Be the Historian from Plimoth Plantation provides wonderful information around the first Thanksgiving. Includes great material about the lifestyles of both the Wampanoags and the colonists and their interactions.  Great all class "big screen" resource.

Try the Pilgrim Life webquest. Includes a teacher planning section to allow for adaptation to your class. Here's another quest about Life at Plimoth Plantation.

Here's a Thanksgiving quiz ! Might be a fun one to do as a class to begin a discussion about Thanksgiving.

Check out a cross-section of the Mayflower so that we understand how big (or small) the Mayflower really was!

Rainforest

Take your class on a Virtual Tour of a Rainforest in Costa Rica.  Meet the people and animals who live there. Explore the rainforest at night with National Geographic's interactive site.  Great sound effects as well !
Be a rainforest explorer with Amazon Explorer an interactive site that lets students find answers to specific questions about animals in the rainforest. Enchanted Learning has a great information on the Rainforest written in kid friendly language.  Also has a good collection of animal information, many with print outs.

Polar Regions

Visit the Iditarod Web site and learn all about this "last great race" across Alaska. Check out Polar Husky A-Z and learn about the Artctic Region.
Find more information about the Iditarod and dog sledding as well as scavenger hunt, photos, and trivia game at this site. Learn and see what's involved in dog sled racing when you check out the South Colton Race.

Find information about specific explorers at Zoom Explorers Visit the Mariners Museum and find short bios of famous explorers.
Find information and activities about European Explorers at this site from a school in Tennessee Solve the Case of the Missing Trunks webquest.  Using clues find the explorers who owned these trunks.
Visit the Conquistadors at PBS and meet the Spanish explorers who traveled to the New World Use How Far Is It to calculate the distances explorers traveled.

Visit Hobbamock's Homesite at Plimoth Plantation and learn about the Wampanoags First Americans is a Native American studies page designed for grade schoolers and covering many different tribes.
A tremendous listing of links including Native American Folk Tales, Music, history and more can be found at the 4th and 5th grade resource page. The Children's Museum in Boston has a wonderful site with teaching resources on Native Americans and specifically the Wampanoag.
Find kid friendly information on the Eastern Woodland Indian Tribes including the Cherokee and Iroquios at this page created as part of a 3rd grade study in Illinois. Find an index of other tribes also studied Visit Ancient Images and view a beautiful ceramic tile mural depicting Native American symbols and their importance. Find a great resource of information about Ancient Egypt designed for grade 6.  Info is broken down into categories for easy browsing. Send your students on a journey down the Nile with this Ancient Egypt webquest.
Visit the Ancient Egypt Culture Exhibit and learn about architecture, the military, daily life and more. Check out Ancient  Egyptian Mathematics and learn about Egyptian numerals and the history of zero!
