The Japanese Writing System
Modern Japanese writing uses a combination of Chinese characters (known in Japanese as kanji), two kana syllabaries, and Roman letters and Arabic number borrowed from the west.  This is an advanced site, but it shows examples of Japanese writing for the students to see.
